What blank media and burn speeds are you using? If you don't use quality media, you will most likely have these types of problems.

Agree with Bilbo her. Fact is, most of the pixelation, playability problems we see here is due to cheap, junk blank media.

Good media to stick with would be Taiyo Yuden, and Verbatim.

Burn between 4x-8x.

YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!

Yeah, it was the #$#*$&( memorex DVDs that I thought I threw away after having this problem a while ago. I'm using sony now with no problems. Any opinions on either of those brands?

Alot of Memorex code out as CMC MAG, which is bottom of the barrel. Junk. Plain and simple.

Sony are usually pretty good. I stick with Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim pretty much exclusively.

I had the same issue with the movie freezing at the same location. I rented, than purchased, all with the same results. My first quick fix was to press pause/resume and than it would continue for 30 seconds. It made for a long movie. By playing around, I found that changing the playback sound to 2 channel instead of 5.1 fixed the issue. I was able to watch the whole movie with no further issues.
