Crisis Core works fine on 3.71 M33 and above. I play(ed) it on 3.90 M33-2. Don't need official firmware. :) Just update to that.

Whatever version you pick to upgrade to, you'll need the 1.50 EBOOT in the root of your memory stick (renamed to 150.PBP). Google to find it, there's lots of torrents that have it as well.

Unfortunately my PSP is bricked at the moment, and I'm still quite new and inexperienced myself. I wouldn't feel confident providing step-by-step instructions to someone with no experience.
Hopefully someone else can help. :) Or you could just follow pwr0n's link to the official firmware.
Good luck!

I think you should just follow pwr0n's link and install the latest official firmware from there.

Pandora's the best way to get higher CFW. But if you want OFW, you'll have to run a key cleaner to unpatch keys. Chilly Willy's key cleaner.

THIS is what i'm talking about. The old CFW's used to patch keys so this will fix or repair your keys. But your still gonna need pandoras to get higher CFW.

So heres the new scenerio.. Got that key cleaner and had no idea how the heck to work it!So i got recovery files from someone on this forum.
I went to..
"to downgrade custom firmwares back to 1.50 or repair your semi bricked psp use this 1.50 recovery http://www.sendspace.com/file/j3j2e2 put it in game folder on psp
go into recovery mode and select run programme at psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp "
....to bring it back to original settings and now when i run the 3.93 Original firmware i get a message on my PSP saying.
The system configuration of your psp system does not appear to be correct. The update cannot be completed. Contact technical support for assistance. [DRNFFFFFFD7]
How do i get my system back up and running so i can play crisis core.. Im a total fucking noob @ this shit and regret going to dark alex's i just want the simplest most detailed route to playing Crisis core

:( Sorry I can't help, but I know how frustrating it can be. There's so many different guides, so much outdated information, and so many different ways and "IF"s and "BUT"s and traps and pitfalls and confusions.
I hope you can get it sorted soon. (And I hope the same for myself too!)

I don't have any experience with older firmwares. However, I have read that the game error "80020001" might have something to do with the folder you put it in. Did you name the folder where you put the recovery files in all capital letters? (like PSP/GAME/RECOVERY)
If not, try that.

Ah ok... well, according to the thread here: http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=1238&page=27
They say you can't run homebrew apps on any official firmware. That includes 1.50
So this sounds like a catch-22 situation, you need the keyscleaner to upgrade your firmware, but you can't run the keyscleaner without upgrading your firmware first. How's that for confusing?!

If you've got a Pandora battery, I'd just start all over again.
Download the TOTALNewbi-easyInstaller to create your magic memory stick.
http://dl.qj.net/TOTALNewbi-easyInstalle...14749/catid/193
It has an option to install 3.60 official firmware. Do that, then you can upgrade to any official firmware you like.
