Goto system settings/system information. What does it say there.

If it's an iso/cso it should go in the ISO folder and not the GAME folder.
That is, assuming you're on cfw.

right fw is what makes the psp run basicly. to make it all shot cfw is a mix of two fw both of which are decrypted and one which is homebrew capable 1.50 (for slim users its only one).
to check what fw you have go to settings ----> system settings ----> system information
then look for system version and it should be something like X.XX (where x is a integer)
if it has a m33 or oe after it then its cfw for e.g X.XX m33 or X.XX oe
this allows you to play iso and hombrew and all sorts of stuff.
if you do have a m33 or oe after the X.XX then make a folder called iso in the root of the mem stick and put all iso or cso files there
x:\iso\isoandcsohere.iso where x is the psp drive
if you do not have cfw then you will need to install it using pandoras battery or if you have a fat with fw 3.50, 3.03, 2.71, 2.60 or 2.50 then you can use a downgrader to get to 1.50 and then istall cfw.
hope that all helps
p.s - id change the thread title as thread which help in the title get closed to change it go to the last post in the thread and there ahould be a link called Edit thread title. it should be on the bottom of this post if someone hasnt posted after me 0_<

right there are two ways of making the pandoras battery (i suggest the hard mod version)
there is the hard mod and soft mod version
soft mod [link]
hard mod [link]
you will also need to make a magic memory stick. tutorial on that is in the softmod guide and i think the hard mod guide but it doesnt matter which one you choose.
hope that all helps
you dont need to go to 1.50 you cna go direct to 3.80m33 or 3.71m33 e.t.c.
also do you have a slim psp or a phat psp?

As you have the official 3.80 firmware, the only way to move to custom firmware is using a pandora battery and magic memory stick. see HERE for a guide on how to do it.
