I noticed that you can download the beta from a torrent and put the iso on a disc. Could Microsoft detect this and is it possible for me to get banned?

Alright I just looked it up and it seems that the demo is out on beta for testers. You need a key to play play it. Now im gona go out on a limb here and guess the download comes with one. This might be a problem seeing how many people are gona be trying to use the same code. This is sorta what happend with the whole crackdown halo 3 beta. People who downloaded crackdown tryed to use the key that came with thier downloaded game to play the halo 3 beta, and I know my friend got banned shortly after. Id advise if you didnt get the REAL beta with its own key not to download it and try a universal one. But then again thats just me and what I would do.

I got a key and I'm playing the beta. From what I've read, your 360 doesn't even need to be modded to play the burnt beta. It just get burnt to a dvd+r. When you play it, you'll get the "mixed media disc" error. But leave it in and go to your "game library" tab and it should work.

That's what I've read. And a ton of people are doing it, so it does work somehow. I'd imagine there should be a patch pretty quick to block it, though. There's a ton of people loading up their servers.

Oh ya... it's still not as good as CoD4.

you are correct it is a single layer mixed cd. and i would follow dindi's word of advice. it is still considered piracy if everyone has the same code, when only one person should have it. best bet stay away.

The code doesnt get stored within the beta image , the code is only used to download the beta.

I downloaded it of usenet and have played it a few times after burning it to DVD-R (unmodded 360).

Its OK but I would stay with COD4 for now.
