ok my friend was being a pretty stupid during the march break and he wanted to take his psp apart without asking me for help and stuff.
SO #1 he was using the wrong screwdriver but he manged to take everything apart till the lcd cage thing.and the bottom left theres 3 screws theres a silver one a black one and another silver one the first silver one I don't know how he manged to turn it from a + to a full circle.

Any ideas how to get that screw out?

Thanks in Advance =)

If the top of the screw is sitting proud, then use a hacksaw to cut a slot in the screw head - then use a good flat bladed screw driver to undo it using the slot.

If not...........you could drill it out!!

For this you will really need a drill press and a steady hand and nerves of steel.

or this is what i did to the ones under the battery when one got stripped is get a pair of pliers and grip the screw and twist it round and out.

i wouldn?t try the drill one as the screws are so small that it will be hard ti find a drill bit that will fit into it and you will need a very steady hand.

By the way if you need new screws and your in the uk try this site (got mine from there in about 2days 0_<)

if you dont live in the uk eBay will have them 0_<

hope that helps

well i think pliers would work but its hard to get a grip on the screw since its right at the left bottom corner and yea
well i don't think i would use a drill i would just like to know since its a screw and if u drill it how would that help? like the screw isnt gonna come out so whats the point of drilling the top off?

No, you don't just drill the top off - you drill the whole screw out.

You could then either fill the hole and re-tap it or just tap the existing hole and use an oversize screw.

I have never used this technique on a psp case so cannot vouch for its effectiveness. However, I have done it a few times on bespoke resin articles. You will need a drill press to have any chance of success - using a hand held drill will only end in tears.

To be honest, if you don't have the experience or equipment it's just not worth trying. Maybe just use a dab of instant glue in place of the screw?
