I've been doing a little research. please correct me if i'm wrong since i'm a total newbie to Xbox 306.
In order to play my backup Xbox 360 games, I would need:
1) Console with a modchip. (I will buy one with NME Chip)
2) A special DVD Drive to rip the Xbox 360 from my pc.
That is all i needed right? Is there a better way?
I also encountered Threats about RROG. Is that caused by Microsoft or modder ?
Your input will be greatly appreciated !!!

You can either flash the drive in it so you dont have to have a mod chip. But you do have to have a dual layer dvd burner to burn the games. Which if you do burn the games then you would want to get verbatims.

1) You dont need to get a chip, most people get the DVD drive in the Xbox firmware flashed, making it be able to play backups. Then again if you want to get a bit more invasive and have a chip in there for Microsh!t to see, go ahead.
2) Yes, you do need a special one. Someone else can help with the name, but where I live they are now hard to come by.
Its RROD, not RROG. Its caused by the bad design of the system, and nobody is safe!

thank you for your replies... So it looks like flashing the drive is the choice. I will buy the Xecuter Blaster 360 and the SH-S162D for ripping.
Since putting the Xecuter Blaster so easy, the cave man can even do it. lol. Correct me if i'm wrong again.
I looked on Bestbuy's website and there are 3 Versions of Xbox360.
1) Xbox 360 Arcade $279
2) Xbox 360 Console System $349 ( I want to buy this one)
3) Elite $449
The different between 1 & 2 is the memory. Arcade(256MB) the others are 512MB. The elite has bigger hdd and 512MB.
Since we can't play backups from HDD so it would be a waste for buy an elite (All Xbox360s are able to stream movies/musics through networking). And the Arcade only have 256MB Memory so it will slow your loading a bit. So the best choice is #2 ?

The Blaster is a waste of money.
The Arcade comes with a 256mb memory card. That's not its internal memory. All 3 consoles are built the same. So there's no console which will load slower than the other.
And you want to make sure you don't get a console with a Hitachi 79 drive. Use this site http://www.360drives.com/list . Compare it to your available choice at the store. You want to check the lot number, team number, and mgr. date.

All the new consoles have switched over to a 175 watt power supply, not just the Arcade. But, some of the first Arcades still use the 203 watt power supply.
So to answer your question, yes and no.
