PowerDVD 5.0 stop function takes it's time!

When I try to stop playing a DVD (Terminator 3) by pressing the stop button in PowerDVD 5, the PowerDVD screen goes black and it seems to take 20 seconds for the Powerdvd 5 background default screen to re-appear. This should be within a second or so. During this time the drive seems to be busy (the light is flashing) and you can hear the audio skipping. When i used another player (Ulead), i didn't have this problem as the default screen re-appeared instantaneously, but with Ulead the video was jerky. The video and audio is perfect with PowerDVD and all other functions such as pause, rewind and so on work perfectly in PowerDVD. I am playing the DVD on my DVD burner drive (Pioneer DVR-106D), as i don't have a separate DVD-ROM drive. My system is: P4, 256mb ram, NVidia GeForce2 MX-400, SB Live 5.1. The DVD burner is on the secondary ide channel as the master device (DMA is enabled). Any ideas why PowerDVD does this and how to fix?
