Ok heres what i want to do.

-Make copies of my already burned dvd-r i made awhile ago.

-extract video/audio from already burned dvd-r. I would like to use them as back up files b/c i do lots of video editing. Just burnng the acutal video on a dvd takes to much room, i hardly can fit anything on it. (i use iDVD to burn my dvd's)

-extract from regular dvd's

-if u compress somthing from NTSC to MPEG does the video shrink when it plays on your home dvd player? How do i do that? What is encoding?

-In final cut express/ imovie i use export my videos that i want to burn in NTSC format then drag them into idvd...is there away to keep the quality and the playing size of the videos the same but be able to compress them and fit more on the dvd?

-Can i do all i want to do in DVD Studio Pro...somthing i plan to get in the futer? Or what do i need to do this all.

I'm trying to put all my vhs on to dvd so i can use thoes as better quality back up to import them into final cut...thats mainly what i need to do!
