Best method for PSP1001 with FW 3.30

Totally confused noob here. I just picked this PSP and have been reading for hours now but still confused.

My question is, what is the best method to mod it? (upgrade, downgrade, pandora battery....???) YIKES.....!!!!!

I've modded my own xbox and xbox360 but just want to be sure.

As the tittle states my PSP's specs are;

PSP1001 (Fat I believe), Firmware on it is 3.30, I confirmed it's an IC6001, it's used so I have no idea if it's an older model or a newer one. Came with an orig sony battery and a orig Sony 4gb mem stick.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
