Ok guys i had a psp a while ago when they first came out, that was when firmware 1.5 was the latest :L.
So before i buy a new one i have a few questions about the psp slimline and how far homebrew and stuff has come.
1.The slim psp, what different, is it just a bit smaller, also whats the batterly life on it like.
2. Whats the latest sony firmware, and can it be hacked yet for flashing or downgrading.
3. How does it work with downloaded iso's, is there a program for it.
4. Whats the best hacked firmware to run.
5. Would it be better to buy the slim or original, suppose this is a personal question, i just want the best performance and the esiest to flash.
Anything u guys wish to add feel free, i have quite abit of researchig to do, last time i did stuff like this psphacking101 was on year one. Try help me to get up to date, thanks
"1.The slim psp, what different, is it just a bit smaller, also whats the batterly life on it like. "
its a bit smaller and lighter the screen is a bit more clear it has a video out port but no ir port it has a more flash space and better
built internally cheaper parts externally. the slim is way better
"2. Whats the latest sony firmware, and can it be hacked yet for flashing or downgrading."
3.93 , Yes but you will have tou use a pandora battery and a magic memory stick info at the top of this forum.
"3. How does it work with downloaded iso's, is there a program for it."
no program needed place the .iso in the iso folder the custom firmware creates and the game will appear in the xmb now that only works for psp umds if you want psx games then you use popstation gui and convert the iso to an eboot.pbp and place ti in the /psp/game folder.
"4. Whats the best hacked firmware to run."
depends on what you like. 3.71m33 or 3.80m33-5 are the most stable but if you want the latest sony features you need 3.90m33-2 has some psx support problems

slim slim slim slim slim slim. i have both and in my opinion the slim wins in every way. plus skype is a nice touch and a possible sign from sony that the old psps may not run all new features in the future
well thanks for the reply. Guess i might buy a slim psp, id like it to run downloaded game iso's and the ps1 games, well some of them, also hows the psp these days for video capabilitys, is it still restricted to the mp4 format or can these firmwares use divx and so on.
