For playback on the PC, try 'Media Player Classic'.
Click 'Play' 'Audio' 'Options' 'Audio Switcher'
Check the 'Audio Time Shift' box and insert a value.
If audio lags by two seconds enter -2000 (minus 2000).
Un-check this box before playing a good file - it remembers the last setting.
on virtualdub when i click audio the interleaving ,then audio skew correction, when i go to the file section to save as avi, it won't let me save as avi. what do i need to do next.
sorry this is my first posting..can i also use this method if my video is playing slower than my audio? i've just downloaded a XViD-HiQT.avi file which has this problem.
Drag your file into the top window, highlight it and select "generate data".
In the lower window' highlight the audio and if anything other than 0 appears to the right, select "start" and in a minute or two you'll have a new file to use.
If it doesn't show a delay, insert the delay that you calculated and see if it gives you a good file.
When the audio is behind the dialog, insert a negative number;if the audio leads the video, use a positive number.
