I am using the 1GB CSO of Crisis Core ripped by KiZer, 920MB cso.

My system:
Japanese PSP-1000 (phat), using 3.90 M33-2. Settings should be correct with 333 Mhz speed. My memory stick is an official Sony MemoryStick PRO DUO 1Gb HIGH-SPEED. This CSO leaves me about 20MB on my card. I do not have any plugins running

Details of the problem:
At Mako Reactor 5 (and a few certain missions), some battles will lock up and prevent me from advancing further. Right now it's a battle on a narrow walkway which I CANNOT AVOID.

When I try to engage, the camera will turn around and Zack will face me. It'll go through the "Activating Battle Phase" routine and the music will play. However, once the camera stops, Zack will not draw his sword and the music will continue to play. Start button still causes a pause, but there is no soft reset. The only option after this is to Home -> XMB. This has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Things I have already tried:

Using another memory stick
Upgrading firmware (this started back on 3.52 M33-4)
Playing on full battery
Having UMD/not having a UMD inside
Reextracting the CSO from the rar file

Has anybody else encountered this problem with this CSO, because from KiZer's forum, nobody who has used this has encountered this strange "battle lock glitch".

Any thoughts/help/support would be greatly appreciated.

I have just ran into the "battle lock" problem (stands there with sword drawn, music playing, can only pause), unfortunately I am at the end of the game and its happening in-between boss fights =/. I have a slim with cfw 3.80 and have tried the M33 and sony UMD loaders so far. Also, I am using a different cso from "espalpsp". I am going to try upgrading to 3.90 and the other UMD loader but other then that I am just assuming the CSO is corrupt, maybe yours is also.

the cso shouldn't be 1gig. i have the japanese iso and cso, and they were 1.7gigs for iso and 1.2gigs for cso (compressed with umdgen 4.0).

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

There actually is a 1GB CSO, ripped by KiZer who took it apart and downsampled all the FMVs.

Well now at least I know i'm not the only one experiencing battle lock.

Just a update on my end. In the process of uncompressing the CSO I found that the end of the file was corrupted (hence the locking up). Upon trying a new file everything is working fine. So basically as another user states, even the CSO should be over a gig, don't bother with those under.
