no offence kid but if you have no experience programing on c++ or c# then i dont think dark alex will take the time to teach you. i would love to learn how to program for a psp (im only learning VB6 which is C**P)
id suggest trying to get hold of c++ and learn it of the internet but it is hard!!!
and after that you need to get the c program for programing for the psp and the learn how to program for the psp so unless you are a wizz at maths i wouldnt try it.

humm gcses at 11 ok... lol (by the way you cant have 1.50 or 3.40 on a slim psp in your sig)
i was having a look around and found this
the first program is simple but the rest get a bit harder. note though that this is visual c++ (soon to be getting 0_<) so it will be different to the psp version as you have to add the code for the objects your self.
i dont think you'll get to a stage where you can make cfw but im sure you can make some homebrew apps they dont seem to hard.
heres a simple tutorial for psp coding (note you have to instal linux(wont write over windows it like dual boots with windows)) and psp tool [link]
hope that helps you out
if you do manage to make anything please show it id like to see it 0_<

To be honest, for an 11 year old to learn how to program in C+ is not going to be even remotely easy. My sister is 11 years old. She is an extremely bright child but having her start with C is like trying to play Beethoven if you have never played piano. Start with a simple programming language likepython. Python will teach you the basics of programming. you may not be able to create anything useful with it, but you will learn the crucial building blocks in the logic and mathematical aptitude needed for coding.
I do admire you ambition though, if you started programming today you could be far in advance in even ten years. (and still only be 21!)
Remember only take steps as long as your stride. ;)

Heck even at my old age C++ is hard :)
Also look up pseudo code - that's usually the starting point for programing. Structured English that is then turn into code.
Like the others said I gotta give you credit f1nbar for wanting to learn at your age.

Yes, good call, pseudo code is definately something to look into as well. Especially if you're just starting out.

Pfft, a C! Even i'm better at BS'ing than that... My chemistry teacher once said that a C grade at GCSE isn't worth the paper it's written on, amazingly true, actually.
Though good for him on the A* :P

I apologies in advance for my ignorance, but what is GCSE used for? We don't have those in our education systems here in Canada.

In the United Kingdom, GCSE's are standard tests taken in Year 11 as a certificate of education... they're put on CVs and looked at by Universities or Colleges to gain a place. You can either leave school at the end of Year 11 having just taken your GCSE's, or carry on until Year 13 and take further tests called A levels.

Oh yeah, we have that as well. Except only after grade 12 and there called diplomas. Our final mark in the course and final mark on the diploma will affect our chances of getting accepted into whatever post secondary field we choose to apply to. although we all graduate from high school when were 17/18 . Really no exceptions to that, unless you're exceptionally gifted.

Ah the GCSE's in the UK sound similar to the PSAT & SAT tests we have in the US - these are scored and used for college acceptance too.
Ok I guess back on topic :) - anyone every attempt to write their own code for the psp?

Some of the best programmers out there are self taught. So at least thats something comforting to think about :P.
