Bricked or Hardware fault?

Here's what's wrong.

Using Datel Service tool and universalo unbricker.

Put service battery into PSP with jigstick, power LED lights, WiFi LED flashes and mem card LED flashes to indicate it's checking for media. LCD backlight powers up too, LCD is blank.

Left LED's go out, power LED stays lit for 15 seconds, PSP powers off.
No sound and it won't go to restore menu (not sure if it will do that with OEM firmware and Jigstick in place).

Tried 2 LCD screens and 2 WiFI/Mem Card boards.

Anybody come across this before? I'm thinking there may be a hardware problem. I've unbricked several PSP's this way and I'd like to get to the bottom of this.

BTW, PSP is PSP-1003 with TA-081 motherboard.

Try to make it with regular sony battery.

If I try the Sony OEM battery, then the power LED lights and that's it, it doesn't bother checking for a memory card or for WiFi.

It was bricked before, so the Sony OEM battery wont make a difference. I'm just trying to unbrick/add CFW. This has all the classic hallmarks of a bricked PSP. Is it possible that the memory card PCD is faulty?
