So I just installed my wiikey. The install was pretty clean and I had no doubts that it would work. I hooked-up the pieces and turned on the system to test it. The wii boots and functions correctly and as well as it always has with all the games I had. The only problem is, I don't know how to tell if the chip is functioning. My system won't recognize the config disk (1.3 and 1.4) or the firmware disk (1.9s). I can't get any of the chip functions to work. Any Ideas?

Will it play a backup?

Will it boot a GCOS config disk?

I forgot to mention that im using 3.1 US wii firmware, and that the disk channel says "Unable to read disk"

Is there a way to boot the Wii in GCOS mode? I'm a bit confused. I have burnt the padded 1.3 and 1.4 config disks listed on

From what I understand, the disk should be recognized as a GC game and I just play it from the disk channel?
