Ok most of you might know (or not) that I have desperatly wanting to by a new xbox 360. I have came to a conclusion that I don't have enough money to buy one at a store and probably not enough to buy one on ebay, as they are still tipically expensive. so this is my final thought before given up. I think i should buy a defective i.e dead xbox 360 off of ebay for cheap. Then i think i should get a warrenty sticker (off of either ebey or my other xbox 360). Then send it in to microsoft. I am well aware of the wait 4 weeks about. But would this really work. I mean if i just have the sticker, they wont have to looke up any information or anything? This is where i get hesitant and confused. Because if I can just by a broken xbox 360 then send it into microsoft i will either get a refurbish or fixed one back, but for some reason it just seems to easy. Are you guys positive that i dont have to give them any info or anything?

Reply's will be appreciated,

If it's been registered before, you'd have to provide MS with the original owners information before MS would transfer it into your name.

And after they do that, they most likely will still not repair the console as the warranty is only good for the original owner.

People will post, saying to just do it, as they have done this in the past and MS has fixed theirs. And it is possible you may get away with it.

But the fact of the matter is that it is MS policy not to repair second hand consoles. So you'd have to ask yourself, do you want to risk your money on a console which has a chance of not being repaired?

You're best bet, if you want to purchase a rrod console, is to get one which has never been registered. That way you can register it in your name with out any problems.

If you read the Warranty papers, which are written by lawyers, you will see that the warranty is not transferable; but how MS know the xbox is transfered between owners other that registering, i don't know.

If it seems to easy it usually is - save your $ instead of trying to pull a scam & get an xbox.
