What does the option "Read 32kb blocks" do? It's under File I/O in preferences..
I'm curious if this will help to make copies of scratched DVD's not skip so much.
Thanks

Reading in 64kb is faster. If you encounter buffer problems, then check the 32kb option.
If your discs are severely scratched, try a scratch repair kit.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Howdy, can someone please reply with detail. After tons of googling, I couldn't find any actual examples.

I've seen enough benchmarks to know about pipelines, cache, and the certain CPUs will benefit more from one or the other. But I'm unsure about actual examples.

I've installed DVDShrink on some old bangers, and always set 32KB Blocks, as I figure 64KB would choke them, and actually limit their output speed.

Well why don't you run some benchmarks and let us know...

Peshtigo made a joke of it, so I rolled with it :)

We're still after answers, but unfortunately no-one's availed yet :(
