This is not a question asking 'where shall i put the power plug?' for you guys to reply in a socket. No, opinion and thinking outside the box is needed here.

parameters.

Live in England so i use Pal/240V etc

have a HDTV with 1 HDMI female port and 2 av ports, it sits on a 20 inch by 36 inch 'desk' using exactly a quarter(10 inch by 18inch) of the available desk space.
i have a PS2 and N64 using the two AV ports and using the same desk as the TV. even with both PS's standing up there isn't enough desk space.
The PS3 will be using a HDMI cable regardless of length.

Possible plans.

1. Ditch a console(PS3 is 40 gb ie won't support ps2 games).

2. have a nice amount of room next to desk to easily place PS2/3 at the side(i don't favour this as possible breaks).

3. mount TV on wall just behind desk and use vacant space for PS3.

4. set Up PS3 on opposite side of room on another 'desk', run HDMI through floor/skirting. This is particularly favourable as i want to have a much larger aerial(build from wire mesh) ontop of my wardrobe(next to 2nd desk) as my 7 inch diameter is painfully bad. so i can run a aerial into Play TV for recordings and then both HDMI and 'another' aerial to the TV.

now with 4 i will need maybe even up to 10 metres of cable in hdmi. will this affect quality(5 will NOT be enough however may get away with 6/7)? what kinda price am i looking at? is it worth it over plans 1/2/3?

personally i think it would be total bad ass to have my PS3 in a odd location and i feel that this may cause me to make a dumb/expensive decision hence your inputs.

Here are some images to better show this.

this one shows the 'desk' note on the left side at the bottom where plan 2 would be placed. in plan 3 the TV can be mounted just 2 inches above its current position and free up the space where it uses that silver stand on. the ps2 would lie flat with the N64 ontop of it with the ps3 next to it also lieing down.

also note lylat wars not called star fox 64 and my painfully small aerial hula hooping the alarm clock.

These 3 images merely pan around to the other side of the room in plan 4 the hdmi cable will most likely go along the floor against wall on the windows side around the back of the main wardrobes to the 2nd 'desk' its a chest of drawers but you get it. ontop of the wardrobes in the 3rd image will be the new large aerial.

the ps3 will be located where that VCR is. there is a power plug located just behind those chest of drawers so all is good. also alot of room to put controllers and other stuff. that VCR will most likely end up in storage.

personally I would mount the tv to make space onthe desk. running a long HDMI will be risky an expensive.

mount the tv mate, less hassle, save the money you would spend on the lead and buy GTA4 when it comes out!
