Dear All,

I'm facing one strange problem.

Starting from a DV camera file I produced the same movie in two formats:

1. PAL DVD format (pal 16:9)
2. DivX format (720x360)

Well, when I play the two files on a stand alone player the Divx fits perfectly on my LCD screen (no image cut).

Instead, the DVD looses some part of the image borders (video size its too wide).

The worst thing is that if I change the player, the DivX still fits perfectly the LCD while the DVD looses even bigger parts of the picture.

Do I have any chance to get the DVD version diplaying with the right size on every stand alone player?

Thank you a lot.

I don't understand this:
"Instead, the DVD looses some part of the image borders (video size its too wide)"

It can only be as wide as the TV, but the height will change due to
the letterbox effect and the A/R of the material.

Perhaps I'm just not understanding what you're doing.
What is the res of the original DV file? Perhaps that would help.

well if it's standard definition, 4/3 aspect ratio,
then how does a divx at 720/360 (2.0 aspect ratio) look right ?

Just convert the footage to dvd using your application of choice
and select the PAL dvd standard template.

If this doesn't help, please post some screen shots that shows
the problem.
