Flashing the Hitachi

When i flashed my hitachi with the ixtreme 1.4 firmware it asked for the firmware write speed and gave me some options from 2x to 12x.... When i look through the tutorials on here, there doesnt seem to be a mention of this. I chose the 5x and now when i put in one of my backuped games sometimes i have to open/close the drive to get it to read it. Never more than once though... Question is, should i reflash and choose a different write speed? Thanks in advance

Reflash it with 8x Or 12x..im running 12x
