When wiikey initially installed,
Will it be able to read GC backup disc ?
Does it make sense if there's no firmware installed wiikey ?

I'm having trouble to run disc after wiikey installation.
All the wires checked 10 times to make sure nothing
is shorted or not connected properly.

When all wiikey solder point is connected,
Only gamecube disc is recognized and
wii disc or burned firmware or 1.3 setup disc is
not recognized. If I disconnect ground soder point,
Wii & gamecube disc recognized but no burned dvd
is recognized.

After many things tried, I guess either this wiikey has
nothing in firmware or defected..

Any suggestion anything else I can try ?

If your Wii version is 3.0U and higher download this one first....

After getting that disc burned and started; use this disc 2nd......

You just saved my life.. and now I can go to sleep
after wasting 10 hours on this.

I had 2 wiikey and both gave me exact same sympton and
using bootdisk to bootup wiikey setup 1.2 and just
change disk speed from 6x to 3x makes everything works.

I screwed first chip by trying to flash firmware to latest one
without changing disk speed in setup first and this chip is doing
bad and not detecting any disc after flashed.
Even boot disc is not detecting so I replaced 2nd chip
and did following step and every thing works ok now.

1. Install wiikey.
2. Boot using bootdisc (Recognized as gamecube disc)
At this moment, only origanl gamecube disc is recognized and
all other discs are showing DISC READ ERROR.
3. At the booting screen, change disc to wiikey setup 1.2
4. After setup 1.2 disc booted,
change disc speed setting from 6x to 3x.
Save and exit.
5. Insert 1.9s firmware disc and flash firmware.
