When i put in any game that i know requires an update like halo3 or Phantasy star universe it won't update neither will any other game and if i don't update it won't let me play online...when i put in the game it skips the process altogether...not even signing me out to update...
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Do you mean it wont ask you to update or that it does ask you to update but then wont go through once you do

I had this issue a few months back. Bioshock had to update but it wouldn't go through. I just removed the ethernet cable from the back of the 360 and it updated from the disc.
