i have a hitachi 78fk and i wanted to know if i could put the board from that drive onto a 59DJ>?

nope, to swap boards, they have to be from an identical drive, 78 with another 78, ms25 with another ms 25 etc.

well why dont you just replaced the drive? they are only like 60 bucks or so, cheaper than buying a new 360.

i dont know..lol i cant get the drive into mode B So i can dump the drive key

idk, worth a shot though, there have been plenty of people that claim its RROD when its not they just have other problems, banned, dirty disc e74, etc that get a new one. couple guys i live with have done it already with no problems at all.

Well i know whats wrong with the drive now.. the little black Spindle the disc sits on is all off balance causing the disc to make a grinding noise .. so on that note can i pull out the spindle and put the one from the 59 into it?

you should be able to. there was a question on this topic a while back (month to three months i remember seeing) so you might wanna search it and see what that guy did.
