Hello, I am new here to the site but have heard nothing but good things about it from friends, so perhaps someone can help me with a problem I am having.
First off I had originally gotten a PSP with the 1.5 firmware I had been enjoying emulators on it for a while but I was soon forced to upgrade my firmware in order to play newer software so I decided to give up on PSP emulators and just play official software and update my firmware as high as I could.
I do not have all that much software for my PSP so I really did not consistently upgrade my firmware via UMD and I never really bothered to upgrade off the web so my PSP stayed as firmware version 2.60 for a while. I recently purchased Patapon for the PSP and I was forced to upgrade my firmware again to I belive was 3.71. However I received a message saying that I could not upgrade the firmware because the system configuration was not correct. I called up Sony's tech support(or lack there of)and was told that it was because whoever had the PSP before me had put custom firmware on it and that I was basically screwed. (I had bought the PSP used and had only ever put emulators on it, never custom firmware)
So now I basically have a PSP that can not play any new software releases and in a sense I sort of just want to get back at Sony by going back to 1.5 and adding custom firmware.(The sad thing is the day after I upgraded from 1.5 I found out about all the great custom firmwares)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
So ok thats a bit of my PSP's back story. My PSP is the TA-082 motherboard version and I had found a guide to downgrade from 2.71 to 1.5. My PSP has been upgraded to 2.71 and now I am attempting to use the downgrader. I have been looking at many guides and the one that I am using is this one:
Now I have downloaded the downgrader that the guide gives a link to from and have extracted all the files and open it up. My PSP has its default settings restored and my memory card is formatted. I use the installer and it saves the files onto my memory card. Now on my PSP I can see the IdStorage Changer and the PSP Update ver X.YZ and I can also see the HEND image in the PHOTO section that I am suppose to start.
Now this is where my trouble is, every time I get to the point where I need to activate HEND it does none of the blinking that its suppose to do, all it does is appear as a normal image. So basically I would like to know what im doing wrong if there is program I still need to download and use or if im saving my data in the wrong spot or if im activating HEND in the wrong way.
So: HEND will not activate; It only opens as a image.
Thats my problem and I would be very appreciative if someone could help me troubleshoot this problem or tell me what I did wrong or give me a better set of instructions. Thanks in advance.
