Hi.

I have been reading on afterdawn for a while, and followed your instructions to softmod. It worked correctly, but now I am trying to upgrade my HDD. Just had to mention that to say thanks for all that.

All right, here is the sit. I have a 1.6 (From what I have read it is a pain in the @$$) and a Maxtor 160 GB drive. I have checked it and I know it is lockable, well let me explain. I have tried making probably 20 or 25 different discs of xboxhdm, wondering if the issue was somewhere else (maybe in the download, but nope), and all I get is that after I lock it, my xbox gives me error 06 (Can't unlock). I have tried getting my eeprom through configmagic, Slayer's Disc, AIDeluxe 4.2 backup feature... They are all the same. I was wondering if they were all wrong for some reason, but I don't think so. Would running xboxHDM and locking on a different computer work? I am doing it on a custom built AMD computer, and my POS IBM (it is about to literally fall apart) wont support the locking feature.

I am kinda spotty right now, I just got back from being on the road for about 25/30 hours yesterday, so if I missed anything, let me know.

Bill

Since you already have the AID disc, give Chimp a try. I had lots of trouble with XboXHdm, couldn't get it to workin...I did it with Chimp in 15 minutes(depends on how loaded your original HD is):

If you don't have the Molex Y-Splitter to power the new HDD while cloning, use the power source from one of the drives in your PC.

You'r process will be a bit different from mine since you have a 1.6

Piss me off, and I Will ignore You!

Alright, here is the sit:

I ran chimp through UnleashX, got to the green screen, and swapped the DVD cable onto the HD (Yes, it has power). My xbox is static, on 192.168.2.8, and my computer I THINK is DHCP, but it is 2.7. I try to telnet in through Windows CMD, Putty, and several others, but I am getting nothing.
