Freeloader causing issues with mario kart wii edition

Has anyone heard of this because i was going to import one but play asia is reporting that the wii freeloader doesn't work with the mario kart game something to do with the console will ban you online if you try to use the japanese wii channel on the u.s wii console.

Has anyone heard of this and is it true??
