Hi I have never updated my Wii since I had the Wiikey installed and it still got 2.2e Firmware is it safe to update via wifi to latest system updates and also I have an original Metroid 3 game that wont play until I update, but not sure whether or not to update.

Update your wii via internet to get update to 3.2e it is safe. If you don't have your wii connect to the internet get Mario Kart Wii and a run that update. It is ok to update, just make sure it is Pal.

Can I just update with metroid 3 then instead of mario kart I have read that there is a screen that comes up if you try do updates via wifi, my wikey as never been updated does this make a difference.

That message doesn't do anything. Your wiikey will work. But if your worried about it update your wiikey to 1.9s
