USB Port issues on the slim SCPH-79001

both ports I am geting a weird issue with my usb devices I try to hook up to it. When I hook them up the games freeze almost, moving only like a frame every couple seconds, this happens on the loading screens for games as well as every other aspect of the game. Its almost as if the PS2 has put all its power into the USB port after something is plugged into it and that the rest of the machine suffers a bog down almost like you have a low amount of RAM on a pc type symptoms. I voided my warrenty already by taking off the sticker but i'm still within the 1 month circuit city time frame for getting an exchange. I'd have to have them print out a new recipt tho, i'm a slob and already lost my recipt even tho I only had the ps2 for like 2 weeks.

I am guessing you are talking about playing games on a USB hdd.

Not all games are compatible.
I have had some games play just fine, but the movies, intro are choppy.

There used to be a good list of what games are compatible, or what users did to get it working, but the server that had the list is down.

I tried to contact him but no replies as yet and that was months ago.

Its just trial and error. If they work, great.
