Is this possible? I have a copy of FFVIII img file and I burned it to a CD-R. I tried putting in a real PSX game and then slide tool, then inserted my backup. All it does is take me to the PS logo screen. thats as far as i can get. Can anyone help?

Also, can you burn psx games on dvd-r's and play them in ps2?

I'm pretty sure that the slide trick will only work if you PS2 is a V9.
As for the burning of PSX game to DVD-R, that is not possible.

no. it's a revision number of the ps2, meaning there have been changes to the whole system (minor or major)

browser swap is only for v9. any other swaps require breaker pro, or a gameshark2 v2 psx disc. i can confirm the GS2 swap works, because i use it on my v7.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .
