I have a recently moded wii. I just burned two backups and both have the same problem.
They play for a bit, and then, usually after 3-10 mins into the game, they freeze.

This happened with Super Paper Mario and Pro evolution soccer 08 (PAL).

I have d2pro chip, use Verbatim +R media, burned with Imgburn at x2. My WII is PAL and fully firmware updated..

Best program for burning Wii disks is imgburn. Best media is Verbatim DVD-R. Best speed is 4x. This is the most popular and generally consistent setup for success.

You can mess around with other software and be successful. You can try other speeds including 8x and 16x or 2x and be successful. You can try different media brands and type and be successful.

Everyone might find a different combination to the one I've given that gives them consistency - that's trial and error.

That should give you enough to go at m8 - Oh and make sure your D2Pro is updated as well as the Wii firmware.
