Hi guys,
when trying my first NTSC game converted to PAL (it happend to be SSBB so please dont go close this thread as it's general not only for brawl). I noticed that on my screen, the buttom is not visible. The same thing used to happen when i converted PS2 games from NTSC to PAL and forget to use the Y-Fix.
Do you think it's the same thing. I still have COD to convert so I would really not want to waste more DVDs (Verbatim) :)
Thanks guys

Change your TV (Wii settings - screen) to 60Hz and run freeloader PAL if you can get it before you play the game. That should sort SSBB but I dunno about COD or other NTSC releases that have this problem. COD PAL is available anyway so I'd have got that and personally stay with PAL releases if they are out there just because they display better even when you adjust and run FL.

When I change the setting of my WII, the console GUI turns orange (not blue). and in the games the red becomes blue etc.

Might be summat to do with how you get your video into the TV. I have 2 scarts which are already used with my Satellite & Wireless Media Player so I have my Wii connected to my FAV (Front AV) using the yellow/red/white inputs. Did you run Freeloader as well? Other option - try Freeloader at 50Hz, i.e. as is. TVs vary and the one I'm using atm is a widescreen CRT. I haven't tried it on my other LCD one which is newer technology and might well be different in how it deals with the signal. I'd assume it's better but sometimes old stuff can be the only thing that works properly.

Dont ask me how, dont ask me why but when I tried again to set my wii to 60 Hz it didnt get my GUI orange :) So I was able to see SSBB with no cuts at the bottom. Now I got another question, when I patched the COD 3 with Regionfrii 1.21, it changed it to pal but gave the message "patched, gamecode mismatch". However when I burnt it put it in the wii, i can see the icon of disc channel displaying "3" (Means COD 3), however when i select it and press start, I receive a black screen and the wiimote stops responding (like in gamecube mode). When I used the freeloader disc, I was able to start the game.
Is there a way to have the disc work without having to insert the freeloader every time? Thanks in advance

I doubt it very much - I went through a few things to get SSBB to look right and I've given you my method for sorting that. If it works for COD NTSC on PAL Wii as well then that's prolly the best you can hope for. I don't like having to run FL either but I don't care that much cos when the PAL version comes I won't have to. The solution to running COD without FL on your system is to get the PAL version ;)

You've got to remember that some of out of region games will NOT run at all unless you use FL and really it's only for those who desperately want to play a game that isn't released for their region.

Nah not 24/7 - I wish LOL... I'm out usually weekend nights working between 6 and midnight so I've geared my sleeping pattern around that for the whole week. It's unlikely I'll reply between 4am and 11am UK time cos that's when I sleep as a rule.
