New wiikey wont read config discs.

I bought a wiikey the other day and had my dad install it. The install seemed to go fine and i didn't notice any problems. When i turned my wii back on everything worked fine and i could read all my original games, including SSBB. I'm assuming if it will play the original SSBB it came with the 1.9s firmware. My wii has the 3.2u firmware. I've looked around and burned my config discs multiple different ways but my wii wont read them. Does this mean the wiikey was not properly installed, or am i missing somthing with the config discs?

Burn on verbatim dvd-r using imgburn @ 4x - if 1.4 doesn't work then try 1.2
