Greetings,

I have a PS2 slim version 12. I have installed crystal modchip V 2.0 SLE & it worked great until today.

I was playing fine with it until lunch. But when I returned after lunch the PS2 won't boot.

Whenever I put a DISC & start PS2, I see the Sony Playstation message first, then a black screen for about 1-2 seconds (I can hear the DISC rotating) & finally I am shown a screen with Memory Card & DISC image.

If I do select DISC image & PRESS "X" I am returned to the same screen.

If I start PS2 without a DISC inside I am taken to BROWSER options.

I also have the SWAP MAGIC 3 Tool D. I used it to see the DISC with the PS2 LID open. I see the DISC rotating. The head lits up with RED light initially but then the RED light is OFF & it doesn't move from inner DISC surface to OUTER disc surface.

I am really confused & don't know what the problem is ? Whether the PS2 head is corrupt or whether Cyrstal Modchip is corrupt. How do I know what the problem is & repair it.

Please HELP.

Best Regards,
Abhijett

Greetings,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Well I never really thought of that but will definitely try it.

Meanwhile can you tell the reason why I am suddenly finding this problem as the PS2 was raring with all DVD/CD GAMES and was working 100% just 5 minutes before.

I again tried to BOOT PS2 with it's LID open.

All I see the DISK rotates -> head moves from outside to inside below disk with it's red light lit -> red light is OFF & head remains still on inside surface never moves out.

Best Regards,
Abhijett
