My bios doesn't support booting from a usb flash drive.
So
I got a usb floppy drive, ran iprep to format a floppy, got the xbox hooked up and the bios booted the floppy.

The problem I'm running into is after I type in "dSam and my serial number" it seems to run out of space. I would assume that there's not enough room on the floppy to back up my original firmware and them create the new hacked firmware right?
So
I've read a few more forum posts and I'm trying to figure out where to go from here. The only solution that seems viable is using the bootable dos cd that can flash from your hard drive and using the xtreme bootmaker program and do everything manually. Am I going in the right direction or is there something I've missed?
My drive is a Samsung MS25 if it helps.
Thanks

Did You Remember to Check the Box That Says Format And Make Bootable

and then open the floppy under my computer and it should look like this

Yeah I remembered to check the box for the floppy and the usb flash drive. My bios could only boot the usb floppy drive. I got iprep to run and got the the step where I type "dSam 123456 12345" only with my serial number of course and it said there wasn't enough room. Like I said I would think that there is not enough room on the floppy to store my original firmware and then create a hacked firmware to flash onto the drive.

So I'm trying to figure out what would be the best way to go.

a) Should I try to use the NTFS4DOS.iso to boot from the cd and flash from my had drive.
b) Should I get a usb hard drive and try to boot from that.

Or is there another option or thing that I may b missing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Um that was a typo on my part and will be edited.
Thanks for catching that.

On the other hand I burned the ntfs4dos.iso and booted it after running xtreme bootmaker to prep files on my hard drive. But I'm getting an out of memory error. Not sure why that is though.

Actually I redid it and mine doesn't look exactly like that.
Mine has the following folders,
"BACKUPS" empty
"CFW" - SAM-CFW.bin
"Tools" - FirmTool.exe & MTKFlash.exe & MTKFlash.typ
Then there's
Autoexec.bat
sDam.bat
fSam.bat
intro.bat
intro.exe
rSam.bat

and that's it. So it would seem the iprep is doing something different here but I'm not sure why.

are you using the same version of iprep that is in the image

try it again from the floppy, because there is enough space to dump the firmware and make the custom firmware and flash it without rebooting your Pc

Okay I got the same settings and everything just like in the image.
When I hit the prepare button as soon as the window says "injecting boot sector" I get an "operation failed window"
The following error occured. System.commponentModel/win32exception: The system cannot find the file specified at system.Diagnostics.process.startwithshellexecuteEx.....etc.

Any ideas on what I need and where it should be?
Thanks

Edit: Okay I got past that one so nevermind this post."
Thanks

So now I get iprep booted.
Type in dSam with my serial #.
Cut on the Xbox 360
It finds the drive called XTREME.
Power off the XBOX 360
Type the port number.
Cut the Xbox 360 on.
It reads the drive to 71%
Then I get this
ERR FAIL TO WRITE OUTPUT
INSUFFICIENT DISK SPACE
INSUFFICIENT DISK SPACE
FILE BACKUPS \serial number\ SAM-OFW.BIN
IS NOT 256KB!!! PROGRAM ABORTED.

When I checked my floppy disk out I still had the files set up like I said they were and not like the image.
I'm using the ixtreme 1.4 rar that I got off of xbins. the 12x and the long 1fc76 number is the same so that should be correct. Are there things on my floppy that should be deleted to make room or is there something else going on?
Thanks

Yeah that got it.
It read all 4 banks and then I was able to flash it.
I tried testing it but got an unplayable disk message.
I burned the .iso to a verbatim DL DVD+R at 2X speed.
I'm going to keep working on that but I wanted to say thanks again for all the help.

No Problem, Witch speed firmware did you use 8x or 12x?. How did you rip the Game? and did you remember to set the Layer Break in IMGburn when you burnt the .ISO

Setting the layer break was the problem. But yes I was using ImgBurn and just straight up burning the .iso and not creating the .dvd file.
Thanks again for the support!
