i've very recently purchased a psp slim & lite, and have firmware 3.71 running on it. i have downloaded some PSP ISO's, but it having done a bit of research on these forums it looks as though getting them to run is going to be far more difficult than i initially believed. is the ONLY way to get these ISO's running the 'pandora battery' method? or can i get any of them running simply through downloading certain programs/firmwares? if the pandora method is the only way... then are there any other types of ISO (maybe PSone, etc?) that i can run purely through downloading without messing about with the actual hardware itself? any response & advice would be greatly appreciated. cheers!

Well, you've got it all mixed up :)

Official firmware PSPs can only play game demos (Which can be found on the official web-site) and UMD games >_>

To play ISO games, you need a custom firmware on your PSP (i.e hacked firmwares)
So, the "Pandora's battery" hack is for installing a custom firmware on your PSP which will make your PSP run "Homebrew software" and ISO games :)

Installing a custom firmware is the only way for you to play ISO games :)

You need cfw to play isos homeboi. So you either need a hardmodded or softmodded pandoras battery. No choice.
