Discs not working after enhancing audio.

I have recorded some movies from TV and found the audio to have a lot of hiss. To filter out the hiss I have been saving the audio to a seperate file, filtering it and recombining the audio to the video saved as an MPG. The movies usually are more than 4GB so I have to split the MPG into two smaller files. The first disc (part 1) plays fine, but the second disc isn't recognized in the player.
Both halves of the movie will play on the computer so I can't tell where the error is coming from.
Is there something lost or introduced in the part 2 disc?
I am using ULead's VideoStudio 6 for editing out commercials which works well. I use GoldWave to filter/enhance the audio. And I use ULead's MovieFactory 2 for the DVD authoring which I really like too.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe there is a problem when MovieFactory converts or renders the movie file to burn to the disc.
Any ideas?
