Just bought the new psp battery kit. Claims to have an extra 20% of juice. I was playing gtavcs with music playing on the background, and played for 8 hours and 15 minutes. Thats uber good. I was just wondering what ppl thought of the aesthetics of the battery and modified back door. This life extension puts a lump on your psp, I feel that it makes psps look unique--and I also dont care since the rest of the psp is still slim. What do you guys have to say?

i bought the extended battery kit as soon as it came out. pricey, but worth it since you can get near double digit hours on the psp.

with the looks, i feel it offbalance. if they made a matching left side cover, then it'll feel better.

Yeah 40 bucks invested on my psp, was sort of unorthodox since I havent spent money on it in a while. I thought it would be the last battery sold for psps that is legit.

P.S. sporting out the silver door on my piano slim for kicks..

I'm planning to buy the 3600mAH battery for my PSP :)
Well, and also, I'm gonna put a transparent faceplate on my PSP so does the 3600mAH battery fit inside the PSP properly or does it bulge out a little ??? :)
I'm having a PSP Classic btw :)

wow 3600mah. What a monster. I am not sure they have any legit sony ones out. The only third party 3600mah batt that I know of being somewhat good is this one http://www.gamestech.com/PSP_Info/PSP_3600mAh_Battery/3b.htm

and yeah...you will have to replace the cover. I say get the 2200mah and replace no cover for your classico. Don't mess with fake batts. Its like buying a fake 4gb ms..useless.

some 3600mAh batteries don't even have double the capacity. it's probably the same as the 2200mAh. sony doesn't make a 3600; the highest the have is the 2200.

@acidy
the 1800/2200/3600 batteries require a new cover for the slim psp. the bulge is slight, but your right hand won't cramp up easily. the price of the official sony battery upgrade is $40.

Yeah I say go with that @acidy. Most of the time 3rd party brand batteries claim to have a certain capacity, and in reality don't. They actually discharge faster. Sometimes don't even signal how much "life" is left or give a false signal of "life". Worse that can happen is that the psp blows up in your hands with one of these. Even tho 40 bucks is pricey it is a good move on sony's part to make some ppl happy. It is a great official add-on for the psp. Since you are referring to a classic psp you wont even have to change the cover.

You have read the reviews on those batteries, right?
Whatever, anyway, you don't need a new cover for your PSP Phat.

I think a 3600mah batt would need a modified cover. At least a batt that can be somewhat trustworthy. There is no way to fit a 3600mah on a standard 2200mah casing. no way. I have seen them of course, but they look uber fake. I know for a fact that they contain no such capacity.

I have only seen good user reviews only on this combo:

http://www.joystiq.com/2005/10/07/datel-...psp-hard-drive/

and the other one on the above post.

from the link acidy posted, you need a new cover for THAT 3600mAh, it's nearly double the size.. the ebay cheapo's doesn't.

Well, I'm dropping the idea of buying the 3600mAH battery >_<
Thanx guys :)

Well, I've read that the "Sony 2200mAH batteries" claim to only give 30 mins extra gameplay >_<
That's not enough >_<
I mean if I'm going to buy a new battery (as an upgrade over my old 1800mAH battery), then it should at least give "1 to 1:30" hours extra gameplay >_>

who said that man? everyone knows you get 2 1/2 extra gameplay. I even ran the test to prove it. You're paying 40 bucks for a reason for 8 hours gameplay.

the 2200mAh gets more than 30 minutes. you can get 1-2 more hours, depending on speed and brightness.

when you let the psp idle and check the battery life, it'll have around 10-12 hours. with the standard 1800mAh, it'll be around 8-10 hours.

my slim iso speed is maxed at 333, with brightness at 2. i can pull around 7 hours with the 2200mAh. before with the original 1200mAh, it pulled 5 hours. if i tone down the speed to 300, i can get another 30-45 minutes out of the battery.

Woah Koooool 8)
Well, I put my brightness to 3 :)
And my CPU speed is default :)

So, I'm assuming I may get 1:30 to 2 hours of gameplay :)
I'm gonna buy the 2200mAH battery :)

And also, the faceplate and now, no worries that my PSP battery case will bulge out too :D
