I recently purchased some copied ps2 games in mexico. When i put them in my ps2, i get the red screen that says " please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc". I have read into flip tops and Swap Magic cd's and i'm wondering what to do. I would like to know exactly what these two products do. Is it neccesayt to purchase both? Will istalling the Flip top void my warranty? if you have any advice, please let me know.

no you dont have to buy both. Just buy Swap Magic. Most stores sell it with a free Slide Tool or Magic Keys, depends on what type of ps2 you have, fat or slim. After that put in the Swap Magic CD or DVD, depending on if the game is a CD or DVD, then when it loads use the slide tool to open the tray and replace the swap magic disk with the game you want to play. CLose and lock the tray then press X to play.
The flip top just makes it easier to change the disk, but dont really need it. not sure how you use Magic Keys as I have a fat PS2. If you also have a fat ps2 many say you might as well get a network adaptor for it as well so you can install hard drive. That way you can install games to it and save from using the laser. Some games require patches to play, but most work withour problems.
