When Will My User Level Change?

Hopefully this would be considered the right spot for this post.
I'm not exactly new to afterdawn, yet I certainly wouldn't consider myself a newbie.
My question is when exactly my user level will actually go up?
It's not that big of a deal, I just get tired of seeing that level next to my name.
If what goodswipe posted in the shoutbox on my user profile is right,
I should be up to the "member" user level by now; I already have over 100 posts.
Anyone have any ideas?
Should I be looking to directly contact a mod or admin, or leave it alone?

Saftey valve posts don't count.
Plus, give the system some time.

Ah, now i see where goodswipe got the information from; he copied it directly from the post you linked to, ddp.
I've never posted in the safety valve, and I'm getting my post count from the edit my account link.

you are just between transistions so don't worry about it as status will change. remember that post quality counts more then quantity.

maybe i just don't understand what you're trying to say there,
but i don't even really believe that.
if i thought it was all about quantity,
i could come up with tons of things to post.
it's more like an issue of principle than anything else.
thanks a lot for the prompt responses, by the way.
edited to add the fact that there's nothing in the linked post about quality.

About quality.. anybody can try to gain postcount by making posts like
lol
what he said
and other junk... Quality is about content. If you had used the search function before starting yet another redundant thread about when your member status will increase you would probably be 3 posts closer to an upgrade looking at your post count than you are now.
Some of us members roam this site as much as the moderators do, and sorry to say apart from in this thread I haven't come across you ;)
Quote: You have posted 1523 messages to our discussion forums since you created your account on Saturday 28 July 2007.
So far you've received 144 private messages through our site..
Lots in the safety valve, and lots elsewhere.. guess what.. I don't care about member level. 4 times a noob and a total of probably more than 5000 posts across all those accounts.
Bothered? Nah.. quality before quantity XD.. There are some sites I have been a member of for 8 years.. and my post counts there are in the 10's.

...
i don't try to gain post count by making random posts; that's one of my points.
also, i don't find this thread redundant, since it's about my user level not changing when they say it should.
this post has gotten more responses from other members than the few thread's i've posted,
all of which are about tech-related problems i was having at the time.
actually, varnull, you helped me out in that last thread i posted in particular.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/645287
i mainly post in news discussion, only when i read something i'm personally interested in.
i've also seen varnull in there, which leads me to believe i've been completely overlooked.
sounds like i have that sort of effect on women even over the internet.

What's up bro, here I come to the rescue again. Let's say you have 120 posts, none in the safety valve. Yes you are right, you should be at member status, but they don't update the system that keeps track of this but like every other month or so. So when it comes time for the system to be refreshed again, you will get your status.

Actually it's probably more like every 3 - 6 months now. Running updates on member status is not very high on the priority list.

thanks big time, goodswipe and bilbo.
it all makes a lot more sense now.
i still appreciate ddp helping out, but i couldn't quite infer what you guys said from his posts.
also, i'd say it's closer to the 3-6 month mark for the updates.
my post count moves slowly, but i've been over 25 for at least 3 months.
maybe i'll skip right over everything else and go right to senior member.
=)

Send me US $50.00 and you can have my title.
No loose coins please.
While I'm here spouting more nonsense, may I suggest that the member level system be replaced with a "Member Since" system? Would eliminate these repeated why isn't this happening to me yet posts.
Just my 2¢ worth.

But then everyone would complain about their status changing from "Whatever" to "Member Since".

Yeah.. I'm with that one as well..
Member since.. and post count....or possibly "new member" "full member" as used on a lot of sites these days.
Me.. I actually prefer custom titles.. have what you want so long as other people don't find it offensive or big headed. Just like a "where from".. where you can put almost anything.
I'm getting horrible deja-vu feelings from this thread.. sure we have all been here before.

Yup, we have all been here before, and we will again and again. Anyone remember the proverb about flogging a dead horse?

let me try this post again, since apparently i failed with it earlier..?
not trying to be a smart-aleck or anything, but i do try not to post redundant threads.
a search for "user level" turned up pretty much nothing:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/search/searc...&lr=lang_en#958
now, of course, you'll find this thread at the top of the search results.

It's been explained countless times...user level/member status/penis size means shiite.

Seriously, this topic has beeeeeeeen talked about too many times to count. At least once a month since I joined this topic shows up.
Four years ago our fearless leader posted this,
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/102943
It's been downhill ever since.
