im trying to swap a broken Hitachi 78fk with a samsung MS28

do i need to just take the 78fk drive key and insert it into the samsung ixtreme 1.4 firmware and flash it ? or do i also need to spoof the ixtreme firmware to a Hitachi 78fk then flash it with iprep?

either way would work i believe, but it would more beneficial to spoof it. i believe when its spoofed, it is less likely to throw a red flag to MS if memory serves me correct.

well i got a new problem .. i cant get the drive to "spin up" using a full size dvd.. is there any way i can dump the drve without spinning up the drive
