I want to make a full backup of my internal PS3 HDD (Japanese 60GB model), but I've ran into a problem:
I want to back up to an external 250GB drive I have, but I need to:
- make a separate partition for the backup, as the drive already contains other data
- be able to format that partition in FAT32 (which my Windows XP won't allow for partitions as big as 60GB)
Does anyone know a reliable, easy-to-use (preferably freeware) program that I can use to accomplish this?
Only one I know of is Partition Magic. It will allow you to change the partition of a drive without having to format it. It worked for me. Not sure but that program may cost ya.

You know the PS3 hard drive is not FAT32 right. It uses it's own proprietary file system.

Yes, I know, but it doesn't recognize external drives formated in NTFS. According to the manual, I need to connect a FAT32-formated drive to put my backup on (-_-#)
