PS2 Stopped Reading Backups - Advice please

Had a customer call and say his ps2 stopped reading backups. It still reads all regular games, just no backups. It gives the standard DRE.

Since the chip was a duo 3, over the phone I told him to press and hold START when the ps2 boots. It disabled the mod chip.

So the mod chip is still getting power but no longer working.

I don't have the ps2 yet (swapping it with another modded one today) but does anyone have any ideas of what the problem might be?

I was thinking maybe a lose wire? Thanks in advance guys.

Well, if anyone is interested, the A point had come lose.

PS2 is working like new now.
