I have a bricked PSP and I ran the newbieasyinstaller on a memory card and it left it jacked up.

When I try the mspformat e it tells me its not a fat partition
When I type format e: it tells me to enter the parameter switch
When I type format e: /fs:fat it tells me:

"The type of the file system is RAW. The new file system is FAT. Verifying 0M The volume is too big for FAT16/12"

Again my psp is fully bricked, I have a pandora battery, I'm just trying to make the magic memory stick and am having no luck at all.

Thanks in advance.

I am downloading the file now, but it looks a lot like the other program I used. I am trying to do this without using a PSP as mine is bricked. I am plugging my memory stick into my laptop and trying to do it that way. I'm not sure if it will work when it gets to the part where it says disable USB setting and re-enable it. The only thing I can do here is take the memory stick out of my laptop and put it back in.

Does anyone know if this is possible using a laptop with the memory stick reader?

Thanks again

Hey i have the exact same problem. My psp was on 3.90 M33-3 and i tried to change to a custom XMB where it had me replace files on Flash0 in the recovery menu. needless to say it is fully bricked, can not get to the recovery menu even with a pandoras battery that i hardmodded. I don't have access to another psp, custom or original. I have only the battery that i hard modded, and will not buy a new one untill i unbrick my psp. From what i'm reading, I need to make a MMS to boot from but everything i've found confuses the crap out of me, all i want is the files to put on my MS, use my pandoras battery to unbrick it. Am i wrong and this is not how to do it? i have a card reader as well on my pc, but can not do anything with the psp... can someone please help? i've downloaded so many different programs and am just frustrated. I'd appreciate it greatly for some instructions. thanks

laturnojd,
sounds like we are sailing the same ship here. I sure hope someone can lend us a paddle!

mrgooey,
I get the same results with the guide you gave me. It started OK (it actually said it copied 4 or 5 files) but since I can't format the stick on a PSP (it says "Do this FIRST with your PSP! Go in to "System Settings" and then "Format Memory Stick") it says it can't create the rest of the files.

Thanks for lending a hand though, do you have any other ideas?

yeah, looks that way. I downloaded pandora's Jigkick + Majic memory card installer, and mspformat.exe, followed the instructions I had found and ran them. This installed kd, psp, registry, update.pbp, and msipl.bin on my memory stick. So then, i put the MS back into the psp, put the Pandora battery in and.......NOTHING. The power light came on, the MS light flashed for a couple seconds, and then still nothing. I'm going crazy. Anyone tell me what i may be doing wrong? thanks again.

anyone know how many files/folders are on a fully functional magic memory stick? Once I finally got this thing going, I ended up with 111 files 34 folders. BUT STILL NOTHING! I put the memory card in the PSP, then I put in the pandora battery and the only thing I got was the green light...NO MS light, NO wifi light, just the green light.

Did all the files not make it to the Magic Memory Stick? Should there be more than 111 files and 34 folders?

Plz help :(
