I don't have a divx player, but I was curious on if it was possible to burn multiple avi's to a DVD, sorta like a Data Disc. If I put that in a Divx Player, would it be able to play all of the avi's? Because I've been just putting one avi file on a DVD that is like 700MB and on a DVD I could fit more? Just wanted to know? Thanks!

I have a phillips dvp3040 dvd player (that can play divx). I just burn my xvid files with nero as data dvd. When I stick the dvd in the player, it plays them fine and they even show up in the menu so you can choose which one to play.

The phillips player is a low end model (i payed $49.00 for it at bestbuy), I'm sure the more expensive ones will be just as capable. Most of my files are xvids, but I have some divx files and they also played fine.

Yeah, it definitely saves a LOT of time!

Instead of encoding and waiting for it to burn ~4GB per movie, just go out and buy a DivX player.

You can burn your discs as a data disc, meaning that you can fit 6 x 700MB movies onto a single disc instead of one.

It's a lot easier to use and you don't lose that much quality!

It's good for TV shows.

Attention : Jony 218

I also burn multiple *.avi to a DVD disk.(usually 6 per disk ) I have a Sony that is unable to play Xvid but it can play DivX. I am interested in the menu you mentioned. Is it a piece of software or does it come with your player.

Thanks

It sounds like you have a player that supports DivX, but is meant as a DVD player.

Players built for DivX play normal DVD's like they are run normally, but if it's a data disc, they will usually have an interface somewhat like Windows Explorer.

It'll list all the files, and the GUI is quite similar on all types of models.

It's in list form, so it's like a scroller sort of thing.

I actually took pictures (I think) and posted a guide on the player I have. Search around for it; Omni DX-4300 or something.

:D

... oh, and yes; all DivX/XviD players that are built SPECIFICALLY for that purpose will come with this UI, it's rare to find one that doesn't.

Thats right my player plays divx movs and has a menu, also what ive found is if you have a look at the properties on a divx mov make sure it says xvid codec, some movs have divx codec which i think is absolute rubbish, and yes you can fit 5 or 6 movs on a dvd disc.
