PS2 Controller NTSC/PAL?

Hey Everyone,

I got a US PS2 which is NTSC and I moved to a Australia which is PAL.

I was wondering if PS2 controllers are region bound like the games?

If I buy a PAL (Australian) PS2 controller will it work on my US (NTSC) PS2?

Just wondering, any advise is much appreciated.

PS2 controllers are not region specific so you should be fine.

Thank you for that.

I have another question. It seems that I need a Network Adapter in order to connect a HDD to my PS2.

Are the Network Adapters region not specific as well? Since sites like Amazon and Ebay US won't ship anything game related to my Australian postal address.

Lastly, I hear that some HDDs won't fit into a Sony Network Adapter. I've seen lists of HDD models but they are quite out of date. Is there a modern HDD that you could recommend or know of a list of compatible HDD models?

Yes Network adaptors are all the same.

The Western Digital hdd is the only one that won't fit the Network adaptor.
I would just buy a Maxtor or Seagate and you will be fine.

Just thought I should let you know that not all version Network Adaptor are compatible with all version of PS2. I don't know which ones are compatible and which ones aren't, but I remember a case where I used a Network Adaptor with the DATE CODE "3B" with a version 4 PS2 and my Maxtor HDD did not boot at all. Then I switched the HDD and Adaptor over to a version 5/6 PS2 and it booted up fine. I asked around and people said it was something about "from a different region" or something like that, that's why it wasn't compatible with the version 4 PS2's.
