I have QuickTime 6 but can never use it watch my movies. It says the encoders needed to play the file aren't available on the network. Is there another way to convert to MOV files to be used in QuickTime?

Another reason is that when I burn DVDs, they don't work on my stanalone DVD player (but thay do in my XBOX). My friends DVDs that he burns play fine on my standalone. He said he uses MOV files (i use AVI) so I wanted to try that.

All help is appreciated.
