Hi!

I am wondering how I can backup or play CD's on my PS2?

I do have a modchip (don't remember which one though... got it like... 3-4 or so years ago so it's an old one).

But I can't play original or backup CD's (I've tried... many times), most of the times I am given a black screen (Going past "Playstation 2" logo then black). So obviously something works halfways... well I've seen the "Disc Read Error", can't get past the browser screen (with memory cards and stuff and the CD is shown but will go back to that place over and over again).

I do know however that my chip works as follows:

Starting up the PS2 (Reset/Green Button Once) = DVD Game (PS2)
Press Reset (Green button) Twice = CD Game (PSX)
Press Reset (Green button) Thrice = DVD Movie

I guess that's the "modes", and that's all the instructions I was given as well from the company that chipped my PS2. If I press it four times nothing happens and I will have to shut off the PS2 and start it again to go through the "modes" yet again. So how do I backup? I've tried Alcohol 120%, CloneCD, DVD Decryptor, tried to copy CD's to DVD's (phail).

The only thing I haven't tried so far is Swap Magic, which I do know nothing about and am unsure about. Read a little which said: "if you have a modchip, why get swap magic?" someone said.

So... should I try Swap Magic? Or is there any other way?

Oh I've also tried CDRWIN, no luck there either.
