I am new to "back-up" for my DVDs. I have been using DVD Decrypter- it rips OK & burns to my DVD+R disc (Memorex 4.7G) It plays OK on my Power DVD Player on PC but does not play on my stand-alone DVD Player. I use a Pioneer DVR-106D RW Drive, but it will not play on my stand-alone DVD Player- can anyone help?

Try your copied DVD on a friends or neighbors DVD player. Chances are it's your player.

I agree with RWG's assessment. I was having trouble with some of my DVD-Rs not working at all on my two-year-old home DVD player, and other discs would freeze half-way through. So I went out and bought a new Sony DVD player. Now ALL of my burned DVDs work perfectly.

Your stand alone player may be a -R player. Check you owners book or go to www.dvdrhelp.com. They list player media compatability.

Try a -R. Many of the Asia players play anything you can throw at them. Sometimes it could just be the media. My old Sampo will only play Princo burns, better quality discs are a no go, yet my newer Sampo 612N plays anything I throw at it.
