According to a Times Online report, the upcoming 3G Apple iPhone will be "radically different" appearance-wise then the current models available for sale.
As quoted by the article, "Industry sources told Times Online that the device will have a 'radically different' appearance to the current device, which has a 4.5-inch screen and slick, aluminium backing.

I don't think that it will become a flip or slide phone. The touch part of the phone is the whole idea, and to take that out doesn't seem reasonable, nor apple like.
