Hey Guys
My friend recently got a slim psp, and I told him I would install the custom firmware on it. I had already done this on another mates slim psp using my phat psp's battery as a pandora's battery.
The first time round, I successfully installed custom firmware on my friends slim psp, and after that was completed, I turned my pandora battery back to a regular one. That was all well and good.
So then just this week, my other friend asked me to do the same, and I accepted. The problem was, I couldn't find the guide I had used before to downgrade the first slim psp, and my phat psp was running a different firmware (3.71 m33 as opposed to 3.8 like it was the first time round) So after a bit of googling, I came across a guide that let a phat psp running 3.xx custom firmware turn the battery into a pandora battery. This is what I found:
http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-development-f...els-122449.html
So after running that on my 3.xx phat psp, the battery was turned into a pandora. However, when I tried to start my firends psp with the pandora and memory stick in, it wouldnt turn on, and i thought it was because the battery was from a 3.xx psp. So then, i put the pandora back in my phat psp, and downgraded it to 1.5 (hoping that I could then remake a pandora using 1.5 firmware so that my mates slim psp would recognise it)
The problem is, I don't know how to put my battery back to normal, as when I try to start the program installed on my memory stick, the psp says the game could not be started.
Where do i go from here? Is my battery screwed, and should I just buy a new phat battery?
My mates psp is fine, its not like its bricked or anything, but I would appreciate a good tutorial on downgrading a slim psp running 3.8 official firmware...
Cheers for any help!

Well, your battery hasn't been screwed up >_<
To make your current "Pandora battery creator" to work, you'll need a 3.xx firmware :)
Update your firmware back to 3.52m33-4 and then back to 3.90m33-3 firmware :)
You'll find that the "Pandora battery tool" will work again :)
But you need a battery to update your firmware >_<
So, use THIS pandora batter creator to revert your battery back to normal :)
Now, well, if you want to properly revert your pandora battery back to a PSP battery, you must have a backup of your battery "eeprom.bin" >_<
If you do have it, then place the eeprom.bin to the ROOT of your memory stick and then power on your PSP with the AC adapter and then when the XMB comes up, insert the battery and then start the "pandora battery creator" software :)
Press the "L" & "R" button together to restore back your battery eeprom :)
If you don't have the "eeprom.bin", then press the "square" button on your PSP to revert it to a normal one [It's not recommended by me though]
According to me, if you don't have a backup of your battery eeprom, then buying a new battery would be better >_<
Well, the "pandora battery creator for 3xx kernel" that you downloaded is an older version >_>
Download THIS
This is the updated version :)
Well, about the guide :)
HERE is a good guide :)

Hey thanks very much for your reply! :D
I got my battery switched abck to normal (thanks again)
So now I have my phat psp running 1.5 firmware, and my mates slim psp running 3.8 official firmware.
So I need to change the firmware on my phat psp before I can attempt that guide you linked me to?
Thanks very much for your help! :D

Hey Guys
I followed this guide:
http://igizmore.blogspot.com/2007/08/mak...tery-magic.html
To create a pandora battery and magic memory stick from my 1.5 phat psp.
The thing is, when I put the pandora battery and memory stick into my friends slim 3.8 psp, it powers on, but there is no activity from the memory stick (the lights don't flash) and nothing is displayed on screen, even thought the screen is on (it's slightly lit up, but no text is displayed)
Does anyone know what I need to do to get it working?
Cheers

When you put the memory stick and pandora into the Slim PSP and the green LED turns and the screen lights up slightly, press X. You may not be able to see the menu, even I couldn't with my Slim PSP.
Pressing X should make your Wi-Fi and Memory Stick LEDs blink irratically. Once the blinking has stopped, the PSP will shut down automatically and you will notice that the power LED and screen will have turned off.
Remove the pandoras battery and start up the PSP with the AC charger. It should now be on custom firmware!

Okay so I followed the guide for the slim from here:
http://freeyourpsp.com/upgraders/pandora.html#Slim
Again, after creating my pandora battery, and the memory stick, I inserted it into the slim, and nothing came on the screen (although it did light up) This time, when I pressed X, the memory card flashed for about 2 seconds, and then the psp shut down. I'm assuming this is a good thing? The thing that has me stumped, is now when I try to turn on the slim with the slim battery inserted, the screen doesn't come on. The green power led tuirns on but teh sdcreen doesnt appear to even light up. I keep turning it off after a few seconds, buti should I maybe leave it on to see if it kicks in?
When I reinsert the pandora battery and magic stick, and turn the psp on, the screen lights up (nothing is displayed, just like before) and i can hit L+R+X or Square Or X, just like I could before...
So basically at the minute, inserting the slim battery into the slim psp does nothing except turn on the green led
Turning on the psp with just AC power does nothing except light up the green led
Inserting the phat battery to the slim psp lights up the screen, turns on the green led and lets me hit X, Square or L+R+X, but nothing is displayed on screen
Can you guys offer any insight as to what I should do?

The guide you used is kinda old >_<
I'll tell you what to do >_>
But first, I would recommend that you update your firmware to 3.52m33-4 firmware :) [If you have already updated higher, then no probs :)]
-Download the 3.80 "EBOOT.PBP" from HERE and rename it to "380.PBP"
-Download the 3.40 "EBOOT.PBP" from HERE and rename it to "340.PBP"
-Download the 1.50 "EBOOT.PBP" from HERE and rename it to "150.PBP"
[All w/o the quotes :)]
Now, download "Despertar Del Cementerio v4" from HERE
After you extract the file, you'll get a folder named "Unbricker" in which you'll find 3 folders and 1 notepad file :)
Copy that "Unbricker" folder to the C:\ drive of your PC :)
Disable any custom theme and bring it back to the original PSP theme
Magic Memory Stick part :-
-Now, connect your PSP to your PC and then go to "Start -> Run" and type "cmd" [W/o the quotes ] :)
-Now, a command box will apprear and then in that, type "cd C:\" :)
-Then type "cd Unbricker\mspformat\" :)
-Then, type mspformat.exe X [Where "X" is your PSP drive letter]
After that press "Y" and hit ENTER to format your memory stick :)
-Now, remove the memory stick, shut down your PSP, insert the memory stick and start the PSP :)
-Now, connect your PSP back to your PC :)
-Make a folder named "PSP" and in the PSP folder, make the folder "GAME" :)
-Copy the "DC4" that you'll find in the "Unbricker" folder to the "ms0:\PSP\GAME\" folder of your PSP :)
-Then copy the "380.PBP", "340.PBP" & "150.PBP" to the ROOT of your PSP memory stick :)
-Now, disable the USB connection of your PSP and then in the Game menu of your PSP, run the "Despertar Del Cementerio" option :)
*This process will take some time*
-After the process is over, the PSP will return back to the XMB :)
-Now, connect your PSP to your PC and then you'll get a file named "msipl.bin" :)
-Copy that file and paste it inside the "C:\Unbricker\msinst" folder :)
-Now, go to "Start -> Run" and type "cmd" :)
-In the command box, type "cd C:\"
-And then type "cd Unbricker\msinst"
-Now, type "msinst.exe X msipl.bin" [Where "X" is your PSP drive letter]
-Press "Y" and then hit ENTER :)
-You'll get a "Write MS BOOT CODE" :)
-Now, disable the USB connection, remove the memory stick, shut down your PSP, insert the memory stick and start the PSP :)
*Now, you have finished making your magic memory stick :)
Pandora battery part :-
-Now, download the "pandora battery creator for 3.xx kernel" software from HERE :)
-Extract the files and you'll get a folder named "ospbt_052"
-Conect your PSP to your PC and then copy that "ospbt_052" folder to the "ms0:\PSP\GAME\" folder of your PSP :)
-Disable the USB connection and run the application [You'll have to first press "X" to start the actual application" :)
-You can now convert your battery to a "Pandora battery" using this software :) [But it's recommended that you make a backup of the eeprom of your battery first]
-After you convert your battery to a pandora battery, remove both the "Magic memory stick" and "Pandora battery" from your PSP and insert first the "Magic memory stick" and then the "Pandora battery" to your friend's PSP :)
You're done now :)
